What a Roofing Project Manager does at Robust
The title is meant literally. You manage a homeowner's roof project from the first conversation to the final walkthrough, and you stay that homeowner's single point of contact the entire way. Nobody passes them to a stranger once the paperwork is signed, and nobody leaves them guessing about what happens next.
- Meet the homeowner and inspect the roof. Every inspection is free. You walk the roof, photograph every slope and explain what you found in plain language.
- Document the storm damage. Good documentation is the backbone of a fair claim, so you learn to capture hail and wind damage in a way an insurance carrier can follow.
- Work the insurance claim. You work it alongside our in-house licensed adjuster, including meeting the carrier's adjuster at the property and preparing supplements when an approved scope leaves something out.
- Walk through options and colors. Homeowners choose their shingles and colors in the RoofMap homeowner portal, and you guide them through it so the decision feels easy.
- Coordinate the build. Most replacements finish in one day, and you keep the homeowner informed before, during and after the crew is on site.
- Do the final walkthrough. You look at the finished roof with the homeowner and make sure they are proud of it.
Pay that we put in writing on this page
Two facts define the pay for this role:
- A $75,000 per year base
- A true 50/50 split with no deductions
"No deductions" means the split is not reduced by fees taken off the top before it is calculated. Many roofing sales plans advertise a split and then take fees off the top before figuring it. This one does not. That is the main reason we describe it as the strongest pay structure a roofing sales professional can find in North Georgia, and we lay out the full reasoning on our roofing sales compensation page. Bring every question you have about pay to your interview, and you will get straight answers.
Training: HAAG certification and a licensed adjuster beside you
You do not need roofing experience to start. Robust provides your HAAG certification and comprehensive training, and you learn alongside the licensed Property and Casualty insurance adjuster on our staff. That pairing matters, because storm restoration is part roofing and part insurance. You will learn to read a roof for hail and wind damage, to photograph and document what you see, to follow a claim from the homeowner's first call to the carrier through an approved scope, and to recognize when that scope needs a supplement. If you are new to the industry, our page on starting in roofing sales with no experience explains what we look for.
A typical day
Storm season keeps the calendar moving, but most days are built from the same pieces. A morning inspection where you walk each slope and photograph damage. A meeting at a property with a carrier's adjuster, with our licensed adjuster backing your documentation. An afternoon at a homeowner's kitchen table, opening the RoofMap portal and comparing shingle colors side by side. A stop at a build where the crew is finishing a full replacement in a single day. Read a week as a storm restoration project manager for the longer version.
Who thrives in this job
We hire for three qualities and train everything else.
- Communication. You can explain a roof, a claim or a schedule change in plain words, and you return calls promptly.
- Follow-through. You do what you said you would do, when you said you would do it, without anyone chasing you.
- Honesty. Robust never waives deductibles, because waiving them is illegal in Georgia. Every project is sold straight. If you would rather tell a homeowner the truth than tell them what they want to hear, you will fit here.
You might come from customer service, teaching, the trades, hospitality, the military or another kind of sales. Where you come from matters less than how you treat people when nobody is checking.
