A Week as a Storm Restoration Project Manager in North Georgia
Storm restoration starts after the weather moves on. Hail and wind leave damage most homeowners cannot see from the driveway, and the insurance claim that follows can confuse anyone who has never filed one. A Robust Roofing Project Manager is the person who makes the whole process make sense, and the role is paid on what we consider the finest compensation structure in North Georgia roofing sales: a $75,000 per year base and a true 50/50 split with no deductions. Here is what the work actually looks like.
A week in the life
No two weeks are identical, and storm season changes the pace. This composite shows the kinds of work that fill a typical stretch for a Project Manager based in the North Atlanta metro around Johns Creek.
Monday: inspections
You start the week at a homeowner's house for a free roof inspection. You walk every slope, photograph damage to the shingles and to the vents, flashing and other metal components where hail often shows most clearly, and record what you find. Before you leave, you sit with the homeowner and go through the photos, so they see what you saw instead of taking your word for it.
Tuesday: documentation and the claim
You organize the photos in the RoofMap app and write up the damage clearly. When the homeowner decides to file a claim with their insurance carrier, you and our licensed adjuster review the documentation together so the file is complete and accurate before the carrier ever sees it.
Wednesday: the adjuster meeting
The carrier sends its own adjuster to look at the roof. You meet them at the property, walk the roof together and point out the damage you documented. Our in-house licensed adjuster backs you up, so you are never the only person on your side of the conversation who understands policy language and scope.
Thursday: supplements and colors
An approved scope sometimes misses items the roof actually needs. When that happens, you prepare a supplement with our licensed adjuster to request what was left out. Later that day you might sit with a different homeowner whose claim is approved, open the RoofMap homeowner portal together and compare shingle options and colors until they settle on one they love.
Friday: build day and the final walkthrough
On build day the crew removes the old roof and installs the new one, and most replacements are finished in one day. You check in with the homeowner while the work is underway. When it is done, you walk the property with them, look at the finished roof together and answer every question before you leave.
The insurance side, in plain terms
Most storm restoration projects run through the homeowner's insurance policy. The homeowner reports the damage to their carrier, the carrier sends an adjuster, and the carrier decides on a scope of work. The homeowner is responsible for the deductible their policy sets. Your job is to make sure the damage is documented honestly and completely, and to help the homeowner understand each step as it happens. Our roof insurance claims page walks through the process from the homeowner's side.
Robust never waives deductibles. Waiving them is illegal in Georgia, and we will not ask a Project Manager to bend that rule to win a project. That keeps the work clean and keeps your conversations with homeowners simple: you tell them the truth about how their policy works.
The licensed Property and Casualty insurance adjuster on our staff is the reason new Project Managers can learn this side well. You are not guessing at policy language or carrier procedures alone. You have a licensed professional in-house to review your documentation, prepare supplements with you and stand beside you in the meetings that matter.
The one-day build
Most Robust replacements finish in one day, and that changes the Project Manager's job. Homeowners are not living with a half-finished roof for a week, and you are not fielding daily calls asking when the crew is coming back. On build day your role is coordination: making sure the homeowner knows what to expect, that the color they chose is the color going on, and that questions get answered quickly. Every roof carries a 50-year labor warranty, which gives you something solid to point to when a homeowner asks what happens years from now.
The RoofMap portal
RoofMap is Robust's own app and homeowner portal. On your side, it is where your inspections and project details live. On the homeowner's side, the portal is where they review options and colors with you and keep up with their project. It removes a lot of guesswork. A homeowner who wants to look at two colors again after dinner can do it without waiting for a callback, and anything already decided is easy to find.
One homeowner, one point of contact
The thread that runs through the whole week is you. The person who inspected the roof is the person who meets the carrier's adjuster, helps choose the color, coordinates the build and does the final walkthrough. Homeowners remember that. It is also why the role carries the title Project Manager. You own the outcome from the first photo to the last handshake.
Pay and training
The role pays a $75,000 per year base and a true 50/50 split with no deductions, meaning the split is not reduced by fees taken off the top before it is calculated. We explain why that makes it the top pay structure in North Georgia roofing sales on our compensation page. Roofing experience is not required. Robust provides your HAAG certification and comprehensive training alongside our licensed adjuster, and our guide to getting started with no experience explains what we hire for.
