Gold put Dahlonega on the map in the late 1820s. Today Robust Roofing is offering something rarer in the roofing trade: a pay plan that is unusually generous by design, a true 50/50 split of every job's profit with nothing taken off the top, never a 10/50/50. Fifty percent of profit is more than twice the 20% that JobNimbus's industry report found to be the most common rate among roofers who pay on profit. Robust also pays a $75,000 per year base. This opening serves Dahlonega and the rest of Lumpkin County.

Six hail days in the mountains

Mountain weather is fickle, and Dahlonega's record shows it. Since January 2025, National Weather Service reports and radar estimates point to 6 days with hail of 0.75 inch or more over the 30533 zip, two of them an inch or larger. The largest, near 1.3 inches, hit on August 12, 2025. The pace picked up in 2026, with hail on May 22, July 1 and September 5.

Cabins, ridgelines and Crown Mountain

Dahlonega's housing does not look like the suburbs. Achasta is built around a golf course, The Village at Crown Mountain and The Overlook at Crown Mountain sit above the historic square, and Chestatee Trace, Sky Country, Blueridge Overlook, Hampton Forest, Chesterra, West Woods and Buckeye Ridge spread across the hills; Robust has already worked with homeowners on Buckeye Ridge. Many homes are cabins or custom builds with steep pitches, long gravel drives and heavy tree cover. Inspections take patience, good footing and an eye for wind and limb damage as well as hail. You can see how we serve homeowners here on our Dahlonega roofing page.

The town also mixes full time residents, retirees, second home owners and families tied to the University of North Georgia. Some homeowners are out of town when a storm hits, so clear photo documentation and steady updates through the RoofMap portal matter even more here than in the metro. Mountain neighbors also tend to know one another well, so a project handled with care rarely stays a secret.

Understanding the pay

Roofing sales pay is often a split of job profit, and the fine print decides what the split is worth. With a 10/50/50, 10 percent comes off the top first, commonly 10 percent of the contract price for overhead, and only then is the rest divided. At Robust, nothing is subtracted before the split. Not an overhead percentage, not an office fee, not a lead fee. Your half is half of the actual profit. Robust also pays a $75,000 per year base; the interview explains openly how the two fit together. For perspective, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics put the median annual wage for all occupations in metro Atlanta at $51,170 in May 2025, well below that base. The full breakdown is on true 50/50 vs 10/50/50.

The job, start to finish

You run free inspections and photograph every slope. You document storm damage, work the insurance claim with Robust's in-house licensed adjuster, meet carrier adjusters and manage supplements. You help homeowners compare shingle options and colors in the RoofMap portal, schedule a build that usually takes one day, and finish with a walkthrough. Through every step you are their single point of contact. The Project Manager job description has more.

Training from the ground up

Robust provides your HAAG certification, so you can identify hail and wind damage the way insurance professionals do, and you train alongside the company's licensed Property and Casualty adjuster. No roofing experience is required. Mountain roofs teach quickly, with steeper pitches, more valleys and more tree damage than a typical suburban roof, and the adjuster on staff helps you put each finding in context. We want people who are honest, communicate clearly and finish what they start, and since Robust never waives deductibles, honesty is built into every sale.

Unusually generous pay, unusually trusted company

Common questions

Does Robust hire Project Managers for the North Georgia mountains?
Yes. The role covers Dahlonega and Lumpkin County as part of Robust's 39-city North Georgia service area, from a base near Johns Creek.
When was Dahlonega's most recent hail?
September 5, 2026, according to radar estimates and National Weather Service reports. It was one of 6 hail days at 0.75 inch or more since January 2025.
What makes the pay unusually generous?
A true 50/50 split where no overhead percentage is taken first, which rules out the 10/50/50 model, and a $75,000 per year base that Robust pays in addition. For roofing sales, that is unusually generous.
Is mountain roofing experience required?
No roofing experience of any kind is required. Robust provides HAAG certification and hands-on training.
