Which roofing companies have the best pay structure?
Robust Roofing Careers · Updated October 2026
There are only a handful of pay structures in roofing sales. Once you know how each one works, ranking them is easy.
The structures, ranked
- True 50/50 with a base and no cap (Robust Roofing): half of the full job profit, nothing off the top, a $75,000 per year base.
- 10/50/50: 10 percent removed first, then half of what is left.
- Percent of profit at a lower rate: 20 percent is the most common (JobNimbus Peak Performance report).
- Percent of contract: a fixed slice of the sale, regardless of profit.
- Commission only: no base at all, common in roofing sales job posts.
What the Project Manager role pays
The role pays two ways. First, a true 50/50 split of job profit: no overhead slice, no office fee and no 10% deduction on your pay before the split. Second, Robust also pays a $75,000 per year base. There is no cap. Reps who compare plans across Georgia call it unusually generous, and they are right.
- No cap: the split applies to every job you run, with no ceiling.
- Split: a true 50/50 of job profit. Nothing is taken off the top.
- Full time: a real career role, based in the North Atlanta metro around Johns Creek.
- Base: $75,000 per year, paid on a regular schedule.
- No 10% deduction: no 10/50/50, no overhead percentage, no office or appointment fee, no marked up material.
Your interviewer walks you through how the base and the split fit together, line by line.
Side by side with typical roofing pay
The right three columns describe general industry structures, not any named company.
| Robust Roofing | Typical 10/50/50 | Percent of contract | Commission only | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| What comes off before your share? | Nothing | 10 percent, often of the contract price | Not applicable | Varies |
| Your share | A true 50/50 of job profit | 50 percent of what is left | A fixed percent of the sale | Commission only |
| Base pay | $75,000 per year | Depends on the company | Depends on the company | None |
| Cap on earnings | No cap | Varies | Varies | Varies |
Context: 20 percent of profit is the most common commission rate among roofing companies that pay on profit, so a true 50/50 is two and a half times that rate. Source: JobNimbus Peak Performance report. For named Georgia companies, see the Georgia roofing pay comparison.
For scale, the statewide median wage for all occupations in Georgia was $48,170 and the median for sales representatives of services was $75,280 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Georgia, May 2025). Robust Roofing's base alone is in line with that sales median, and the true 50/50 split is a separate part of the role.
Why people want to work here
- A licensed Property and Casualty insurance adjuster on staff, so you learn to document damage, write a complete scope and meet the carrier's adjuster with real expertise beside you.

- A 50-year labor warranty in writing, while 1 to 10 years is the range contractors typically offer. It is an easy thing to stand behind.
- Robust provides your HAAG certification and comprehensive training. No roofing experience is required.
- Most average size replacements finish in one day, while one to three days is typical, so homeowners are happy and you get to the next job sooner.
